Brave - October Word of the Month

We tend to save the word brave for awesome acts of courage and fortitude: heading off to war, battling cancer, raising a special needs child. These are no doubt heroic acts.

Bravery also is a common everyday act. Bravery helps you break patterns, bringing new experiences and opportunities. Bravery helps you speak your mind and assert your ideas. Bravery helps you fight your fears – both big and small. It helps you create and realize your goals and dreams. Bravery leads to everyday heroics and empowering feats of personal accomplishment.

Brave means different things to different people. It means sticking up for a kid who is being bullied. It means living with a debilitating disease. It means being okay alone.

This month we are talking about bravery – finding the courage to meet difficulties and challenges head on.

What does bravery mean to you?

Brave is about finding the inner strength to do something scary, different, unknown, hard. Brave is fighting for what you believe in even if everyone else thinks you are wrong. Brave is going with your gut. Brave is putting all the negative talk into a box and beating it by saying β€œYes, I can!”
