Welcome to Empoword’s Quote Exchange
It’s no secret at Empoword we are nuts about words. When someone strings a bunch of them together and comes up with a funny, poignant or meaningful quote, we go ga-ga. And we aren’t alone. Our website’s quote page gets rave reviews. In response to a call for more, we have started “Quote Exchange” – a place to share those dazzling strings of words that matter and make a difference to all of us.
Here are a few of our favorite quotes about bravery and courage to get us started.

“What would you do if you knew you could not fail?” – Robert Schuller
“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

A Timely Group of Words…..
“Fear and anxiety are the dominant psychological states of the human mind. Behind the fear lies a constant longing to be certain. We are afraid of the unknown. The mind’s craving for confirmation is rooted in our fear of impermanence.
Fearlessness is generated when you can appreciate uncertainty, when you have faith in the impossibility of these interconnected components remaining static and permanent. You will find yourself, in a very true sense, preparing for the worst while allowing for the best. You become dignified and majestic. These qualities enhance your ability to work, wage war, make peace, create a family, and enjoy love and personal relationships. By knowing that something is lying in wait for you just around the bend, by accepting that countless potentialities exist from this moment forward, you acquire the skill of pervasive awareness and foresight like that of a gifted general, not paranoid but prepared.”
- a quote from a book by Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse
“The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them, glory and danger alike, and yet notwithstanding, go out to meet it.”
–Thucydides, Greek historian and author, 460-404 BCE)

“I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what.”
–Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird, 1960
Brave are the people who have more to give and yet they won’t let anything stop them.
“Clutter - Anything that you won or do that does not enrich your life.”
I love this quote because it is something that will be thought about personally and then discussed among friends. One thing that is not in the quote is about PEOPLE! I also think that people can become clutter in our life, and just as with things - sometimes we need to weed the garden!
“I dwell in possibility.” Emily Dickenson
