Gratitude Makes Thanksgiving Day Every Day

Gratitude, one of my favorite words is included in Action Based Communication™’s (www.actionbasedcommunication.com) Supporting Words Catalogs, is also a word Empoword cherishes. In the United States, Thanksgiving Day is dedicated to gratitude with people gathering to enjoy the warmth of family and friends, the bounties of the table, and the plenitude of conversation. Whether you travel from bedroom to kitchen to dining room or across the street, across town, or across the country to celebrate, you take gratitude with you as you share memories, tell stories, and recite blessings. Each person contributes to the once-a-year Thanksgiving Day experience. What would your days be like if you considered each one Thanksgiving Day?
Every day is Thanksgiving Day for me. As a daily ritual I thank God for the good and the not so good, the easy and the difficult, the beautiful and the less than beautiful, and thank the universe for its abundance in all that I am and all that I have. This practice helps ground me. Focusing on giving thanks lightens any financial, physical or emotional load I might be carrying and lifts my spirits. Focusing on gratitude or thanks creates the space for more goodness. Focusing on gratitude provides a sense of freedom.
Gratitude manifests itself in the body. Pay attention to your physical sensation as you read this and stop for a second to give thanks for your working computer. As you offer gratitude, your back will most likely straighten up, your chest will expand, and you might feel as if your heart is bathed in a warm blanket.
Gratitude as a Resource
I consider gratitude the gift that keeps on giving. The value of the gift of gratitude is boundless. Imagine gratitude as an investment. In these challenging financial times your return on investing in gratitude offers immediate results with exponential growth. Imagine gratitude as green. In these challenging environmental times gratitude is one free resource that is always available and fully renewable. Imagine drinking a cup of gratitude daily. With Empoword resources you can make Thanksgiving Day every day.
