Quotery of Love

by Jeffry Jeanetta-Wark, Guest Blogger

Love is such an abstract concept to write about, it obviously references more than we can language. Never the less, I am referencing love in three ways in this writing: love for ourselves, love for others and love for all (the world in general). I have selected poems and quotes that touch on the depth of love in the three forms referenced. May your loving be full, deep and satisfying, now and always.

Blessings,
Jeffry

“When I am with you, we stay up all night. When you’re not here, I can’t get to sleep. Praise God for these two insomnias! And for the difference between them.” - Rumi

“Everybody should have four marriages like I had: the first for sex, the second for kids, the third for intimacy and the fourth for a relationship with God.” - Margaret Meade

Ch’an master’s observation: “Enlightenment is intimacy with all things.”

LOVE COMES QUIETLY
Love comes quietly,
Finally, drops
about me, on me,
in the old ways.

What did I know
thinking myself
able to go alone all the way.
- Robert Creeley

“What we give - we have.
What we’ve spent - we had
What we keep - we lose.”

“You can do no great things, you can only do small things with great amounts of love.” - Mother Theresa

“I and thou are one.” - Jeffry Jeanetta-Wark

Wow, I have never seen such an amazing website and blog on love quotes. I appreciate the creativity of the thinkempoword staff. You guys are onto something big. I am a close personal friend of Oprah’s, (did I say close?… yeah, I call her “O”) and I would love to tell her about you guys. Let me know about that okay? Until then, nice job on the February quotes… that was his first time blogging I bet. “BV.”
