Stability Points

Finding fortitude in these uncertain times is tough. Worry gnaws at our confidence and resolve. As we navigate these shaky days, we encourage you to look for and find places of stability within your reach.
What are your greatest sources of strength and stability? A conversation with a good friend? Comfort food? (Meatloaf and mash potatoes tends to solve most of my problems, at least temporarily.) A solid exercise routine? Weightlifting? Biking? Quiet contemplation? Prayer? Reflecting on the positive? Playing with your four year-old niece? Volunteering?
If we all share our stability points, imagine the foundation we will build! Tell us yours.

Sometimes I just need to tune-out the news and go about my day. Listening to the news either makes me scared of what bad economic things may happen, or guilty(!) that my bills are paid and my job seems stable. I guess it’s about being grateful for what I’ve got.
I get strength from running. I run for mental clarity, sanity, time for peace. Being outside and running gives me strength to become a better mom, a better wife and person. It’s a beautiful thing! When I am running, it frees me of everything. I become my true authentic self.
Strength comes from being well-centered. My center is dependent upon genuine, meaningful connection with the people I love. I get strong from my morning coffee and pillowtalk with my partner. I know my strength when my daughter leans into me in the rare moments of vulnerability her teenaged self will reveal. I connect with my authentic center and strength as my best friend and I engage in honest conversation. For me it is all about connection.
I think you can garner more strength from using the strength you already possess — to share a kind word, engage in an act of kindness, to help those who need your help. To strengthen your community is to strengthen yourself.
I have so many things that I need to build my strength. Savoring everything gives me strength and I am amazed how much I need to maintain these days.
Sharing my strength points with others gives me strength.
