What’s with the Symbols?

Ever wonder why Empoword pairs each of its’ words with a graphic symbol?

Empoword is a company that is all about setting intentions and manifesting meaningful outcomes. The symbols aren’t just a fun design element. The symbols serve an important function. They turbo-charge our products and make them super potent inspirational and motivational tools.

Turbo-charged tee shirts? Turbo-charged water bottles and mugs? Huh?

Stay with me.

Left-Brain, Right-Brain Research - Over the last twenty-five years, much has been learned about the way our brain works. Researchers now know the two sides of our brain – left and right – process information in measurably different ways. The left-brain is primarily responsible for speaking, writing, and understanding language. It thinks in words. It is analytic and logic. It processes information in concrete linear sequences: Her name is Sue; 2+2 = 4; add 1 cup milk to 3 cups flour.

The right-brain, on the other hand, “thinks” in images. It synthesizes, perceives, and feels. It processes information simultaneously in pictures, sounds, spatial relationships, and feelings. Sue looks like my sister’s friend Mary; math is fun; this bread is delicious.

When we can activate and use both sides of our brain, we increase memory retention, learn more effectively, heighten the quality of our experiences, and enhance our creativity and productivity.

To activate both sides of YOUR brain, Empoword pairs our words with a symbol. The word activates the left side of your brain. The symbol activates the right side of your brain.

Here is how it works: You see the word real. The left side of your brain may think: real means natural, the opposite of artificial. The right side of your brain, meanwhile, sees the circle symbol and begins to process. The circle reminds you of a dinner plate. Suddenly, without you even realizing it (your brain works very fast), the word real and the paired circular symbol start telling a story, painting a picture of something you want more of in your life: time to sit down and eat wholesome meals – meals made with natural ingredients, not artificial ones.

Now, here is where the turbo-charge comes in. Every time you glance at your Empoword real tee, you see the word and the symbol, but somewhere in that amazing brain of yours, you think: dinner plate. You think wholesome meals matter. Natural ingredients matter. You are inspired. You are motivated. You start cooking more, shopping at farmers market, taking the time to lingering longer at the table with friends and family.

Engaging both sides of the brain increases your ability to create meaningful change, making YOU a very empowered active ingredient.

Not bad for a little tee shirt, huh?

Great. Really love your thinking, creativity, exposition and speaking of real and where the circle takes me, the whole enchilada.
