Sometimes I Forget
I know this may sound crazy coming from me, but sometimes I forget how effective Empoword’s products really are.
Yesterday morning, I opened the kitchen cupboard to grab a mug for my tea. Like every morning, I paused, checked in with myself and reflected: what word do I need today? I was feeling worn out and sluggish. Love, gratitude, imagine, focus, ageless, awake, wonder… I opted for awake. I wanted energy.
I went about my day. Mid-afternoon I ran an errand. I walked into the GAP to return a pair of jeans. “You sure have a lot more energy than I do today!”, said the guy behind the counter. He caught me off guard. I hadn’t noticed, but I was walking with a spring in my step and was feeling great. Without even thinking, I said, “It was this morning’s mug. It really works.”
Then, about 20 minutes ago, I realized it is working again. This morning I chose focus. Lately, I get to 10:30am and think where has the morning gone? I feel like I haven’t got anything done because I am trying to do 12 things at once. Not today. Today, I am on task and working through my list with uncharacteristic efficiency, and yes, focus. I keep thinking: FOCUS, one thing at time, get it done and then move to the next.
Tomorrow, maybe I will choose gratitude, thankful for the guy who returned my jeans at the GAP. He reminded me: see it, think it, be it works, even when you forget.

Good story. For me, it might be the barista at Dunn Bros, rather than the cashier at the Gap — in fact, now that I think of it, I have had that experience. Awake is a good word/picture for my daughter; Focus is a good one for me.
Lately I have had the “can’t turn the brain off” problem; focus should help. I’m struggling a bit with the picture - my mind has always pictured the circle at the center with arrows pointing into it. Most of the symbols I’m seeing on the Website - like those for AWAKE and GRATITUDE - really grab me. FOCUS, though - I wonder if there is some way to do a “swap out your own picture” kind of deal?
